In the hotel, NYC, NY
During September 2004 I contacted Rivers Camera in the New Hampshire.
After exchanging several e-mail and made an acompte via Internet the dealer process my order to Meade Corp. At this time the delay was around five months before delivery, that's enough to prepare the trip.
This order is the launch of my organization. From the passport to the ticket it was a challenge to avoid forgot anything. The following listing show at the glance important things I keep in mind:
- my ticket of course
- a valid passport to enter and leave the United States
- a good insurance for me and my product
- cash, travel cheque or credit card. I contacted my bank to know the better way to use them
- lot of maps, like location hotel, road, city, airport, etc. Found on Internet
- book my hotels and my cars before leaving
- take literature about the USA in general and for the states I'll go in particular
- Have an appointment with the same contact because he know my file
- come back with my product, I had contact USA and French customs
- be sure I can peek up my product aboard the aircraft (size, height, etc)
- made (very) good protection box for my product and prepare a paper for its identification, tape…
- thinking a system to move my product easily and safety
- check and test my product in the store before leaving
- take the invoice for the warranty and the custom
- and plan to visit the United States of course !
