The first one is very useful if you want to
search a target and align it on the scope. It
is also useful for observing large deep sky objects
like M27, offering a comfortable field of view and
high contrast with its 63 magnification. Unfortunately
that kind of eyepiece suffers from vignetting.
In fact, it remains quite difficult to see through
this eyepiece if you are not in the right axe. This
phenomena becomes critical if you use it in
daylight. I made several observations of Venus
and Mercury and according to me this kind of eyepiece
is not made for such an observation. Another problem
with such a eyepiece is its weight. In fact
these 2" barrel size are very heavy for an eyepiece
and it's necessary to balance your telescope
before and after using it.
